Dear Friends,
A lot has happened recently. As I write this, I am in quarantine due to covid. I am feeling a little better each day, and I hope to be back at St. Monica’s next week.
As noted in an earlier email to the congregation, this will be Ron’s last weekend with us. We will have a reception in the Parish Hall as we are grateful for his years of wonderful ministry.
The Rev. Stephen Gerth, the retired rector from St. Mary’s in New York City, will preside and preach. He will also conduct the pet blessing for the 10am service. The Rev. Sylvia is away due to a trip that was planned long ago. Please see her note in the eNews.
With regard to our music ministry, we have formed a music director search committee and our first meeting will be taking place next week, assuming my health has improved. We have temporary help with Gordon Brown as our organist. Already we are getting the word out to local music circles and churches who have contacts. In the short term, we need support for vocals in the choir.
Please pray for Ron’s healing, St. Monica’s, our vestry, and those who help us in this transition. I’m certain that God’s Spirit is with us through it all.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me.
In Christ,
Fr. Jonathan
