Dear Friends,

As we approach Thanksgiving, I am thankful for you. I am thankful for my staff. And I am thankful to be here at this time. It is not easy at times, but it is a joy to see our ministries grow and develop.

Behind all the work we do is a mountain of details and administration. I am so thankful for the work of the Church Administrator, Laura Stamper, and for our New Director of Finance, Joe Master. Both have worked tirelessly to transition our church software and database. They care about the integrity of their work, and they have helped our church do the work we are called to do.

I thank Scott McCurdy, our senior warden, for helping us during this transition. His business skills have been invaluable. I thank Thomas Gibson, for his expert work as our Treasurer – if he were a chef, he’d have a Michelin Star.

I’m thankful for the work of our Fundraising Committee. With their chins up, they have worked hard and with lots of love to help with several fundraising efforts. In doing so, they have also helped build community and welcome people.

I am thankful for Ryan Smith-Landwher, our Junior Warden. He has tackled complex and incessant building issues with aplomb.

I am thankful for the Sunday School teachers who help raise our children in the faith every week.

I am thankful for our altar guild, acolytes, ushers, readers, flower guild, and choir that make beautiful services possible.

I am thankful for the Rev. Sylvia Czarnetzky for her inspired preaching and dedicated pastoral care.

I am thankful for so many others, too many to name, who help our church be Christ’s light in the community.

And finally, thank you to those who support our ministries with their financial resources, gifts, and prayers.

I invite you all to take stock of what you are thankful for and to continue to give generously of yourselves. You make all the difference.

Peace and grace,
Fr. Jonathan Evans
