Dear Friends,

The Lord has risen indeed! This proclamation declares to us that the powers of death do not have the ultimate word. No, God’s love for us does! So, despite any trial, any disappointment, any political reality that we experience, God’s love has the ultimate say.

I always like to point to new life – and we have it here at St. Monica’s! As you will see below, I am thrilled that we now have a new deacon, Ken McCaslin. I find him to be devoted, sincere, and caring person who will love you and help us be a better church. He has already begun his pastoral ministry here, and he will begin his liturgical ministry on the weekend of April 13 and 14. Please read in the announcements about the role of a deacon and a little about his life.

Some other news involves our position of Senior Warden. Scott McCurdy is stepping down from this role, as his new job does not allow for the time needed for this position. He will however remain on Vestry. Ed Strong has graciously accepted the appointment of Senior Warden. He comes with a variety of gifts for this position, and we are blessed to have him as another great person in this role. I give thanks to Scott and Ed for their deep dedication to this ministry.

Many other new and exciting developments are listed below, as new life in God continues here.

Peace and grace,

Fr. Jonathan Evans
