Dear Friends,

Many of us who stay in Naples year-round dislike the summer. They mostly cite the heat as their biggest issue. I don’t blame them.

On the other hand, I deeply appreciate the frequent rains and beautiful clouds and sunsets they produce. It is a time to just be amid the land that is replenishing itself and growing. The cycle of water moving so quickly through the air and skies reminds us that we are part of God’s creation, being present to this vibrant, thriving, dynamic world. Noticing these phenomena at work can center our spirits in God’s Spirit and move us to awe and wonder, which is the ground we find to connect to the Holy all around and within us.

God bless you and let God’s beauty move you. Let your souls be silent. Let God fill them with awe, wonder, and love.

Peace,

Fr. Jonathan
