Dear Friends,

Last weekend, as we celebrated Pentecost, I spoke about the Spirit and the process of God bringing new life into our lives. In light of being open to new life, I mentioned that we will be engaging in visioning and strategic planning. That is, we will be finding out more about who we are, what we want to be, and how we get there. This discernment process will involve heavy congregational participation. This will be an exciting process, and I ask for your prayers.

Our search for a Director of Music is going very well and we have had many outstanding candidates. We ask for your prayers for our discernment. Meanwhile, I am so thankful for those who have helping with our music leadership in the interim: Gordon Brown, Susan Beauregard, Marilyn Dessauer, Rebecca Richardson, and the many who show up for the summer choir. I am also thankful for the Search Committee: Theresa Miller, Gordon Brown, Theresa Miller, Susan Beauregard, Joanie Schumacher, and Dick Rumpf.

This weekend is Trinity Sunday, and I am grateful for our Deacon, Ken McCaslin, who will be preaching. This weekend, may we also pray for those who have died in wars we have fought. We pray also for their families who mourn their losses.

As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me.

Peace and grace,
Fr. Jonathan Evans
